Revenue Premier® Tax and Revenue Management Project for Saskatchewan Ministry of Finance is Live

January 16, 2017. Pembroke, MA – Revenue Solutions, Inc. (RSI), a company that specializes in providing revenue and compliance management products and services to federal, state and municipal government revenue, labor and child support agencies, is pleased to announce its Revenue Premier® solution for the Saskatchewan Ministry of Finance’s (MoF) Tax and Revenue Management Project is officially live.

The Saskatchewan Ministry of Finance initiated the Revenue Administration Modernization Project (RAMP) to replace its legacy systems. The MoF sought a Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) system developed in modern technologies and architecture. After a competitive bid process, RSI was awarded the project to replace systems used to administer Saskatchewan’s consumption tax and refund programs. Combined revenue from the Provincial Sales Tax, Liquor Consumption Tax, Fuel Tax, Tobacco Tax, Corporation Capital Taxes and other miscellaneous taxes is over $3 billion annually. This first of three distinct software releases converted Tobacco and Fuel Taxes to Revenue Premier.  The project work included the modernization of all processing of forms and documents to be more streamlined and informative.

“We successfully implemented our Fuel and Tobacco Tax programs into Revenue Premier with the collaboration and support of our valued business partner, RSI.  We are now live with the new system and fully utilizing the functionality and best practices planned for this release.  Reporting is much simpler and more standardized for our fuel and tobacco clients as they now report electronically.  Revenue Premier provides for streamlined processing and administration for our staff.   We look forward to implementing more tax programs and functionality into Revenue Premier as we continue our tax administration modernization journey with RSI.”

Brent Hebert – Ministry of Finance, Government of Saskatchewan

The ongoing project includes the following core products and services:

  1. Continued cutover of additional tax types and functionality, including auditing, document imaging upgrade and portal
  2. Approximately three-year implementation and integration services for the new solution (including detailed design, configuration, integration with existing systems, conversion, testing, and implementation support services)
  3. Annual software maintenance (maintenance releases and product enhancements)
