RSI Awarded District of Columbia Office of Tax and Revenue Modernized e-File Project
May 1, 2012. Pembroke, MA – Revenue Solutions, Inc. (RSI), a company that specializes in providing revenue and compliance management products and services specifically to Federal, State and Municipal government revenue, labor and child support agencies, is pleased to announce it has signed a contract with the District of Columbia Office of Tax and Revenue (DC OTR) to implement RSI’s Modernized e-File (MeF) Solution.
DC OTR has contracted with RSI to implement Individual Income Tax in the new MeF Solution. The six (6) month project is scheduled to begin this month with implementation in the October/November 2012 timeframe.
Modernized e-File is an IRS initiative to update the technology utilized in the legacy Fed-State e-File program. The legacy Fed-State e-File program is the mechanism that most states use to receive electronically filed state tax returns. Traditionally, only Individual Income Tax returns were processed through the Fed-State e-File program. The transition to MeF enables Corporate and Partnership returns to be filed electronically as well. States and cities that receive e-File data from the IRS must implement new technology to communicate with the new IRS MeF platform. RSI will implement its MeF Solution that provides a communications gateway to request and download taxpayer data along with a viewing system that provides a forms quality view of the taxpayer’s data. Additional custom interface work will be performed to translate the e-File data to DC OTR’s particular back-end tax system.
