RSI Awarded Contract for the Cook County, Illinois Integrated Tax Processing System Project

October 7, 2015. Pembroke, MA – Revenue Solutions, Inc. (RSI), a company that specializes in providing revenue and compliance management products and services to federal, state and municipal government revenue, labor and child support agencies, is pleased to announce a contract with the Cook County, Illinois Department of Revenue to provide Revenue Premier®, RSI’s software solution designed specifically for the tax and revenue industry, and implementation services for a new Integrated Tax Processing System (ITPS).  Cook County, home to Chicago, is the 2nd largest county (in population) in the US.

The County’s goal was to select a reputable external partner for a Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) ITPS to provide a full suite of processing and administration functionality for the County’s home rule taxes. The ITPS project is part of the County’s overall technology modernization strategy and to make it simpler/easier to live in and do business with Cook County, as well as a critical piece of their objective to realize significant productivity gains and real revenue improvement.

Designed specifically for the tax and revenue industry, RSI’s Revenue Premier provides Cook County a comprehensive tax processing solution that has a fully integrated accounting system, a full case management, workflow management and registration system, an integrated correspondence generation and tracking system, a robust e-Filing and e-Payment web portal, and much more.

The ITPS project will consist of two Tax Processing releases and two Compliance releases, implemented over 33 months. Key features of the project include:

• Implementation of the County’s “Home Rule” tax types:
  • Release 1: Full integrated tax processing for primary business taxes
  • Release 2: Full integrated tax processing for special taxes
• Implementation of Revenue Premier’s comprehensive Compliance and Audit solution:
  • Release 1b: Enhanced compliance program
  • Release 2b: Additional compliance initiative including Decision Analytics
• Integration of a new web portal, enabled by the Revenue Premier Taxpayer Portal
