RSI Awarded Sub-Contract to Implement the California Franchise Tax Board EDR Solution

December 1, 2011.  Pembroke, MA –Revenue Solutions, Inc. (RSI), a company that specializes in providing revenue and compliance management products and services specifically to federal, state and local government Tax and Revenue agencies, was recently selected as part of a combined team, with CGI as the prime solution provider, by the California Franchise Tax Board (FTB) to implement the FTB’s Enterprise Data to Revenue (EDR) solution.

The EDR solution is envisioned to accumulate and leverage a vast array of internal and external data, improve business functions and achieve sustainable improvements in taxpayer compliance.  The project is expected to yield $4.7 billion in new revenue for the state over the life of the project.  The implementation approach follows the FTB’s three “Design Stages” preceded by an “Early Wins” phase, which includes new innovations to generate benefits early in the project’s lifecycle.

CGI teamed with RSI to implement several of the Early Win initiatives, and to apply our expertise on data loads, conversion, defining the enterprise data model, and transforming the FTB’s legacy Business Entities (BE) application.  One recently completed initiative included leveraging additional sources for levy which addressed the state’s business problem regarding the availability of data and will result in an additional 80,000 levies issued in fiscal year 2011/2012.

Each Early Win will continue to add value over the life of EDR, and when taken together, create a more robust solution for FTB.  The subsequent Design Stages are divided into sub-phases that encompass specific functionality.  EDR is scheduled for 4.5 years of solution delivery work, followed by another year of post implementation support
