Missouri Integrated Tax System is Live with Revenue Premier®

Pembroke, MA – Revenue Solutions, Inc. (RSI), a company that specializes in providing revenue and compliance management products and services to Federal, State and Municipal government revenue, labor and child support agencies, is pleased to announce that the Missouri Department of Revenue (MO DOR) successfully completed Release One of its implementation of a new Integrated Tax System (ITS) with RSI’s Revenue Premier® March 1, 2014.

The multi-year, multi-phased, benefits-based project is replacing the MO DOR’s legacy tax systems supporting Personal Income Tax, Sales and Use Tax, Withholding Tax, Corporate Tax, Tire and Battery Fee, and the Property Tax Credit.

The effort at the MO DOR is the culmination of work that included onsite set up of the technical architecture; design and configuration of business rules; development of site specific modules, reports and notices; test; development and delivery of training; legacy data conversion; and integration of the MO DOR’s data warehouse, which the agency wished to preserve.

The Release One implementation included:

  • The conversion of the Tire and Battery Fee legacy data into Revenue Premier.
  • Channel Management and Deposit, Tax Processing, Taxpayer Accounting (including Billing and Refunds), Outbound Correspondence, Case Management and Reporting functionality.
  • Interfaces to several third parties including the Statewide Accounting System, State Treasurers Office, National Change of Address service and the Voucher Booklet Printing vendor.
  • Enhancements to the existing data capture capability to allow for OCR/ICR of documents and payments.
  • The establishment of benefits programs to drive increased collections.

With Release One, MO DOR and RSI achieved a major project milestone. Project Manager Larry Seneker, of the Department of Revenue, said, “Our first release of Missouri’s Integrated Revenue System using RSI’s Revenue Premier was the smoothest implementation I have ever been a part of. The release went in two months ahead of the original schedule and was well under budget. RSI did a superior job of managing the effort and working with our Agency resources as a strong, united team.”

“This has truly been a team effort from the beginning,” said RSI project manager Adam Schaffer, of the project team that includes RSI personnel and subcontractors as well as resources from third-party vendors and MO DOR personnel.

Work is underway for Release Two, scheduled for implementation in early 2016.
